Even though the Raiders and Warriors are no longer located in Oakland, the town still has fierce Oakland pride. Lois the Pie Queen is a breakfast restaurant focusing on southern-style cooking. They have been making customers happy for over 50 years. Some of the favorites are the Corned Beef hash and the Chicken and Waffles. Save room for the banana pudding or some peach cobbler. Who says you can’t have dessert after breakfast?
Start your day off right by grabbing a bite to eat at Beauty’s Bagel Shop. Their bagels are made the traditional way, kettle boiled, and they have a nice selection of flavors to choose from. A breakfast sandwich made with their bagel makes for a nice breakfast and their omelets are a hearty breakfast to enjoy.

Like its wide range of restaurants to choose from, Oakland has countless forms of entertainment for its residents. There are also numerous festivals and events held in the city every year.
The Laurel Street Fair Festival takes place every year in Oakland and is a celebration of music, cuisine, and art. All the money raised during the festival gets put right back into the community. Guests can enjoy live musical performances and eat from one of the many food vendors. Oakland is also home to a yearly Oktoberfest event. Along with a lengthy drink menu and food vendors, attendees can enjoy live performances from a San Francisco German band.
Lake Merritt is a jewel in Oakland and where everyone goes to spend a day on the water enjoying the beautiful California weather. It also has a jogging trail, playground for children, and boating center. At Joaquin Miller Park, visitors can enjoy picnic areas, walking trails, and even run into some wildlife. The park is a beautiful place for weddings and has all the accommodations for making your special day perfect.
